In this episode of The WeatherPod, hosts Alan Thorpe & David Rogers meet Dr. A R Subbiah of the The Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES).

Subbiah has had a long and distinguished career in the Indian government implementing development and disaster risk reduction programs before moving to the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center where he began building a regional project to strengthen institutional capacities to create end-to-end early warning systems. Following the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, this transformed into RIMES with Subbiah as the founding Director with the mission to develop a multi-hazard framework for the generation and communication of early warning information for all member countries.
